When we were setting up the Institute in 2008 I asked Margaret if she would consent to being our Patron and she was quick to agree. This was so characteristic of her generous and supportive nature. She was always interested in other writers and ready to encourage and promote the work of others. Writing was such an integral part of her and she loved being able to share the joy that words brought to her with everyone. We were very privileged to have her involvement in our early years and many students remember with much affection her visits to our classes.
Sadly her sudden death has ended all this but her legacy will certainly live on and her magical words and effervescent spirit will be part of our lives for ever.
