Established in 2013, The Quick Brown Dog is the Hagley Writers’ Institute journal.
The Quick Brown Dog offers graduates a valuable one-off opportunity to edit a literary journal, with mentoring and support from the Institute. Editors are responsible for the full range of editorial duties, from deciding on the format, layout, theme, and submissions guidelines, to reading submissions, making selections, communicating with contributors, and launching the journal.
Over the years, the journal has featured the poetry and prose of writers including Michalia Arathimos, Laura Borrowdale, Victoria Broome, Marisa Cappetta, Rose Collins, Jeni Curtis, Doc Drumheller, Fiona Farrell, Nod Ghosh, Marie McGuigan, Bernadette Hall, Jenna Heller, Gail Ingram, Teoti Jardine, Erik Kennedy, Sue Kingham, Frankie McMillan, Isabelle McNeur, James Norcliffe, Vivienne Plumb, Kerrin P Sharpe, Regan Stokes, Chris Stewart, and Toni Wi, among many others.
